Professor Salo has over twenty years experience in orthopaedics and trauma surgery. He has held academic positions in three Universities in Finland, has high level publications, and is internationally known as an initiator and developer of orthopaedic cone beam CT imaging. His major clinical work focuses on cartilage surgery, meniscus surgery, osteotomies and spine surgery. He is an active member of ICRS (www.cartilage.org), and educates cartilage imaging and surgery internationally. Currently Salo has surgical patients from over 20 countries, and he is a consultant senior orthopaedic surgeon for many teams in top level football, motorcycle teams and basket ball players.
Physical Therapist, Performance Specialist
Jesse has a large experience working as physical therapist, performance specialist consulting coaches and medical staffs worldwide in individual sports and team settings. In CARTILAGEHELP team Jesse is responsible for physical output testing and strength training in postoperative rehabilitation as well as Return To Play continuum with professional and recreational athletes.
Sami has comprehensive experience in knee, foot and ankle rehabilitation and injury prevention. Sami's area of special expertise is low-intensity training and movement control. He performs output testing and movement control testing for lower extremity. Sami has also expertise in orthopaedic manipulative therapy, Maitland concept.
CARTILAGEHELP coordinator, Physical Therapist
Jaana is CARTILAGEHELP coordinator guiding customers and taking care of all organizational and practical issues. As physical therapist Jaana is specialised in postoperative rehabilitation after cartilage reconstruction, her other special interest includes pelvic floor functional problems and real time ultrasound use as biofeedback in therapeutic exercise.
We are located in Hospital Mehiläinen in Helsinki Finland. Mehiläinen is the largest and oldest private hospital in Finland, founded in 1910. Mehiläinen serves clinical consultations and treatment to major Finnish companies and private customers as well as international patients from all over the world. Our customers include professional top level athletes, but we are open to everyone.
